Daffodils Montessori House Of Children is tucked away in House No 1/49A in Kakkanad. We are situated right on the Ramakrishna Nagar Canal Road, near the Thuthiyoor Road crossing. It’s a bit of a long address, but once you find the Canal Road, we are easy to spot. The school is near the Cochin Special Economic Zone, so a lot of our parents work in the offices nearby. Being a Montessori place, the classrooms look a bit different from regular schools. We have lots of low shelves with materials for the children to pick up and work with. It’s a smaller setup, which helps us keep an eye on all the toddlers and young kids running around. The Ernakulam weather can be quite humid, so we try to keep the rooms airy. There’s a small garden area where the kids spend time outside when it’s not raining too hard. The staff here is used to the chaos of little children, from tieing shoelaces to helping with snack time. We don't use a lot of formal talking or strict rules, just letting the kids explore the things we’ve set out for them. It’s a busy little house on the canal road, and there’s always something going on. We just try to provide a decent space for the children to spend their day while their parents are at work in the SEZ. It gets quite loud sometimes but it's part of the day.
