Wendy High School

Wendy High School is at number 6 Naramau on the G T Road. It’s another one of those places that benefits from being on the main road, making it easy to find but also a bit noisy. The school has a very local feel to it. It’s not a huge, sprawling campus, but it has enough space for what we need. The main gate is usually where you’ll find the most action, with vendors selling snacks nearby and rickshaws waiting for the final bell. The building itself is painted in a way that stands out, though the sun has done its work on the colors over the years. Inside, the rooms are filled with the sound of teachers talking and the scratching of pens on paper. We don't have air conditioning in every corner, so the ceiling fans are always on high speed. The playground is mostly packed earth, and we’ve had many games of cricket and football played there. It’s an honest sort of place. There are no polished marble floors here, just plain cement or tiles that are easy to clean. The staff room is small and usually smells like someone’s lunch. We know the neighbors and the people who run the shops around Naramau. It’s a community school more than anything else. We focus on the daily lessons and making sure the kids are where they need to be. It’s a bit old-school, and we like it.
