We started Ramdhenu Farmers Producer Company Limited because people around here needed a better way to get their things to market. We're based over at Pachim-Hati in Bhawanipur, right at Denanath Sarmadakhin-Hati’s place. It’s mostly just us local folks trying to figure out how to handle the crops without losing too much money. Farming in this part of Assam isn't exactly easy, especially when the weather acts up or the prices drop out of nowhere. We spend a lot of time just talking under the porch about what seeds are working and who has a truck available for the next trip. It's a small operation, really. Most days involve a lot of paperwork that none of us really likes doing, but it has to happen to keep the company running. We aren't fancy businessmen or anything. We're just neighbors from the village who decided that sticking together makes more sense than trying to do everything alone. The office is easy enough to find if you're coming through Bhawanipur. Sometimes it gets a bit crowded when everyone shows up at once to discuss the harvest, but we make it work. It’s about keeping the land productive and making sure the families here have a bit of stability. That's just how it is. We just take it one season at a time and hope for the best. There is always something to fix or a new rule to learn, so we just keep going as best as we can.
