Mandia Milanjyoti Farmer Producer is located at House No-10 in the Mouripam area, under Mandia. Abdus Sabahan Khan is the person we usually coordinate through. We are a small group of farmers from this local patch of earth. Most of us grew up right here in Mouripam, so we know the soil pretty well. We decided to form this group because doing everything alone was getting too expensive and difficult. Now we share the costs of things and try to help each other out when someone’s crop isn't doing so well. It’s a lot of manual labor, and we don't have much in the way of high-tech equipment. We rely on our hands and the weather mostly. Sometimes we meet up after a long day to talk about what we need to buy for the next planting season. The village is small, so news travels fast. If there is a problem with the water or the seeds, everyone knows quickly. We don't have a big corporate strategy or anything. We just want to grow good food and sell it for enough to keep going. It’s a quiet existence for the most part. If you’re ever passing through Mandia, you’ll likely see us working. We are just a bunch of neighbors trying to make a living off the land we’ve always known for years. It is tough but we keep going because we have each other.
