Mesguri is a quiet place near Tamulpur and most of us here have been farming these lands for a really long time now. We are located over in Anima Baishyavill-Mesguri near the Ps-Tamulpur area. Milanjyoti Agro Producer Company Limited started because a few neighbors thought it would be better to do things together instead of just trying to handle everything alone. Most days there is a lot of mud on our boots and we spend a lot of time talking about seeds or the weather. Sometimes the rain helps us and other times it just makes everything difficult. We do not have a big fancy office or anything like that. It is just a few rooms where we meet up to discuss what we are growing and how to get it to the market without too much trouble. Everyone knows everyone here. We try to keep things simple. If you come by Mesguri you will see us working in the fields or sitting around the porch. It is hard work and the days are long but it is what we know. We are just local people trying to make a living from the ground. Some of our tools are old and we are still learning how to manage the paperwork that comes with being a company. It is a bit of a change for us but we are getting there slowly. We just want to keep the farms going.
