Shankar Caterer is located in the middle of Chowk Bazar in Jugsalai. If you’ve ever been to Jugsalai, you know how packed the bazaar gets every single day. It’s always loud and there’s always something happening right outside our door. We’ve been doing catering from this spot for a long time. It’s a family business through and through. We handle the cooking and the serving for all sorts of events around the city. Most of our work comes from people right here in the bazaar or the nearby streets. We don't have a big fancy storefront with lights. It’s more of a place where we manage everything from. The kitchen is where most of the action is. We spend our days sorting through vegetables and spices from the market. Jugsalai is a tough place to move around in, but we know all the shortcuts to get where we need to be. When there’s a wedding, we are usually up all night getting things ready. It’s just how it goes in this line of work. We don't use any fancy marketing or social media. People know who we are because they’ve seen us at their neighbor’s house or a religious function. We try to keep our prices reasonable for the local folks who live here. It’s hard work, especially when the weather is hot, but we’re used to it. Chowk Bazar is where we belong and where we work.
