Gossipur Farmers Producer Company Limited

Our company, Gossipur Farmers Producer Company Limited, is located in the village of Putimari. We are up in the Darjeeling district, specifically near Bagdogra. It’s a beautiful place to live, but farming here has its own set of challenges. We are a small group of local growers who decided to join forces. We don't have a fancy corporate identity. We are just the people you see walking the roads in Putimari every day. Most of our time is spent out in the dirt, tending to whatever we have planted. When we need to do the business side of things, we meet up in the village. It’s not very formal. We might be sitting on a porch or in a small room, going over the numbers. Being in the Bagdogra area means we see a lot of people passing through, but we stay focused on our land. We deal with the changes in the weather and the prices at the market as they come. It’s a bit of a struggle sometimes to get everything right, but we do our best. We aren't experts in marketing or sales. We are just farmers who know how to grow things and want to make sure we can keep doing it for years to come. It’s a simple, honest life, and we are okay with that. There is always something to do, whether it is planting or harvesting.
