Tista Boroli Farmer Producer Company Limited is based at Sujit Das’s house in Milanpally. We are in the Jangalmohal area. We are a farmer producer company made up of people from around here. The name Tista Boroli comes from the river and the local fish that everyone in this region knows well. It is a very local setup. We don't have a corporate office or anything fancy like that. It is just a room where we sit together and talk about what to do with the crops we grow. Sujit and Jamini Das handle a lot of the coordination. It isn't always the most organized place. Since we are farmers first, the business side of things can be a bit challenging to figure out sometimes. We spend a lot of our time trying to find the best ways to get our produce to market without losing money. It is a struggle, especially when the weather isn't on our side. We don't use any professional marketing language. We are just a group of neighbors who thought it was a good idea to work together. If you visit us, you will see it is a very casual environment. There are usually kids playing nearby and life going on all around us. We aren't trying to be anything big or famous. We just want to help our local community. It is honest work and it keeps us busy most days.
