Ram Niwas Ram Gopal

Our shop is at 131 Johari Bazar. If you have ever walked through this market, you know how tight the lanes are and how many people are always walking by. Ram Niwas Ram Gopal is an old-fashioned kind of place. We have been in this exact spot for a very long time. The walls are thick and the ceiling is high, which is typical of the older buildings in this part of the city. We deal with traditional items, mostly things that people in the bazaar are looking for. There is a lot of history in these streets and we feel like a small part of it. We do not have a website or a social media page. Most people just walk in because they saw our board or their parents used to come here. Inside, we have wooden counters and old stools for people to sit on. It is often quite dusty because of all the traffic outside, but we try to keep things clean. We drink a lot of chai throughout the day and chat with the neighboring shopkeepers. It is a slow pace of life inside, even if it is chaotic right outside the door. We are not looking to expand into a chain or anything big. We just want to keep the shop running like it always has. People know what to expect when they come to see us at number 131.
