Gopal Namkeen Bhandar

Gopal Namkeen Bhandar is located at 1413, Bagru Walon Ka Rasta, right in the middle of Chand Pole Bazar. If you know this part of the city, you know how crowded it gets. The lane is narrow and there is always a lot of noise from the scooters and people walking past. We have been making snacks here for years. The smell of frying spices usually fills the air around our shop long before we actually open the shutters. We spend our mornings weighing out different types of namkeen and putting them into bags. It is a lot of manual work and our hands are usually covered in flour or spices by noon. The shop isn't very big, so we have to stack the containers high up to make room for everyone. People come from all over to pick up snacks for their tea time or for when they have guests over. Chand Pole Bazar is a hectic place to work, but we are used to it by now. We don't use any fancy machinery; most things are still done the way we learned a long time ago. It is just us and a couple of helpers keeping the stock full. We don't spend time on fancy packaging or big slogans. We just focus on making the snacks and making sure the bags are filled right. It is a simple life in a very busy rasta.
