Jai Chand Lal Raghav Kumar is located over in the Riico Complex on Road Number 1 D in VKIA. This is a very industrial part of town, so our day-to-day is surrounded by warehouses and manufacturing units. We’ve been operating from this unit for several years now. It’s a straightforward setup. We don't have a showroom or anything like that. It’s mostly just a large space where we store our goods and a small office corner where we handle the accounts. Most of our interactions are with other business owners or contractors who come in looking for specific supplies. We deal with a lot of heavy items, so there’s always a bit of lifting and shifting going on. The air around here is always thick with the sound of machinery and trucks. We usually start quite early to beat the worst of the traffic on the main roads. It’s a lot of hard work, keeping track of everything coming in and going out. We don’t really use any fancy systems; we just keep a close eye on our stock and talk to our customers directly. It’s a practical way to run things. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to wait a bit, but we just carry on. We’ve been in this spot so long that we know everyone else on Road Number 1 D. It is a noisy place but it is where we do our business every day.
