Latoor Chand Raj Bihari Lal

Latoor Chand Raj Bihari Lal is situated at number 6, which is right near the bus stop in Purohit Ji Ka Katla, within the Johari Bazar area. It is a very tight part of the city. If you have ever been to Johari Bazar, you know how hard it is to move around when the crowds are out. Our shop is small and the ceiling is quite low, which makes it feel even more packed when we have a lot of stock coming in. We arrive early, usually before the buses start making too much noise. The bus stop is so close that we can hear the conductors shouting all day long. We have these old wooden shelves that go all the way to the top, and we use a rickety ladder to reach the stuff on the upper rows. It is a bit dusty and the light isn’t great in the corners, but we know where everything is kept. We don't use much technology here, just some basic notebooks and a calculator that has seen better days. The floor is made of old stone and it stays relatively cool even when the sun is beating down on the street. We take turns going out to get some fresh air because it gets a bit stuffy inside with all the items stacked up. It is not a place for show, just a place for working hard and getting through the daily list of things to do.
