Finding us at No. 2/4 Kedar Mukherjee Lane isn’t always easy if you aren't from around Kantapukur. It’s a narrow lane in Kadamtalla, and things can get pretty tight when we’re moving equipment in or out. We’ve been focusing on pharma engineering for a long time, mostly because that’s what we know how to do. The workshop isn't very big, but we’ve managed to fit all the essential tools and benches inside. We spend a lot of time polishing stainless steel until it shines, making sure there aren't any rough edges where medicine could get stuck. It’s precise work, but we do it with old-fashioned tools and a lot of patience. Sometimes the humidity in Kadamtalla makes the metal sweat, so we have to stay on top of that. There are no fancy uniforms here, just trousers and shirts that usually have a few dark spots from the machine oil. We don't have a big marketing department or anything like that. Most people hear about us from other shops in the area or just by walking past the open door on the lane. We just try to make parts that fit and machines that don't rattle too much when they’re switched on. It’s a quiet life of grinding, welding, and checking measurements over a cup of local tea. We stay busy enough to keep the lights on and the customers coming back.
