You can find us down Kedar Bhattacharjee Lane in Ichapur. We are right near the Santragachi More, close to the Sivaji Sangha building. It’s a bit of a walk from the main road but everyone around here can point you to the right lane. We work with power equipment and industrial parts. The workshop is usually covered in a bit of dust because of all the grinding and welding we do. It’s not the cleanest place but we do real work here. My brother and I started this after working for someone else for years. We decided we wanted our own spot. Santragachi is a good area for this kind of industry. There are plenty of suppliers nearby. The roof leaks a tiny bit when it rains heavy, but we just move the tables out of the way. We spend our mornings checking the inventory and our afternoons on the floor. It’s a loud place when the motors are running. We don’t spend much time on the computer unless we really have to. Most of our notes are written on the back of old envelopes or in big ledgers. It works for us. We’ve known the guys at the tea stall for decades. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we just sit outside and wait for it to come back. That's life in Ichapur. We take things as they come and try to stay busy with the orders.
