The address here is 12/1, Benimitra Lane, which is right near the Tram Depot in Howrah. Being so close to the depot, you can always hear that specific sound of the trams moving on the tracks. It’s a sound we have grown very used to over the years. The place is located in a quiet corner of the lane. It is a modest setup, really. We have a couple of rooms that we use. One has a large desk and a few chairs for visitors. The walls are mostly bare, except for a calendar and a small clock. The light in the hallway is a bit dim, but once you get into the main room, it is bright enough. We spend a lot of our day here, just handling the daily tasks. There is a small window that lets in a bit of a breeze if the weather is right. Benimitra Lane is mostly residential, so it doesn't get as loud as the main roads, except for when the trams are nearby. We keep our files in an old metal cabinet that squeaks when you open it. It is just a normal, everyday work environment. We don't have a reception desk or anything like that. People just walk in and we talk to them. It’s very informal and down-to-earth. We focus on getting through the work without any extra distractions or fancy equipment. It is just us here at 12/1.
