Bioinformatics

Our small office is down at 63 Kaibarta Para Lane in Salkia, which is part of Howrah. It’s one of those narrow lanes where everyone knows everyone else. We do bioinformatics work here, which sounds a bit complicated, but to us, it’s just our daily job. We spend a lot of time looking at data on our screens and trying to make sense of things. It’s a quiet life for the most part. The office isn't very large, and it’s filled with old books and papers. We don't have a receptionist or a fancy waiting room. If you come by, you’ll probably just see us hunched over our computers. Sometimes the neighborhood kids are playing outside and it gets a bit noisy, but we don't mind. We aren't a big tech company with a lot of funding. We’re just a local outfit doing specific work that we happen to be good at. The humidity in Howrah can be tough on the machines, so we have to be careful with that. We don't have a mission statement or anything like that stuck on the wall. We just have a list of things that need to be finished by the end of the week. It’s a very simple, down-to-earth way of working. We enjoy the puzzles that the data brings us, and we just take things one day at a time without any fuss.
