Our place is at 25, Salkia School Road, which is right in the heart of things here in Howrah. You will find us near Sanghamitra Vidyalaya. Since we are so close to the school, the street is always full of life, especially in the mornings and mid-afternoons when the kids are heading in or going home. The building isn't brand new, but it is solid. We spend a lot of time just keeping things organized. There is a small desk near the entrance where we keep our registers and some basic supplies. The floor is tiled, and it stays relatively cool even when it is muggy outside. We have a few benches for people to sit on if they have to wait. The walls have a few old posters and a clock that ticks a bit louder than it should. Sometimes the traffic on Salkia School Road gets backed up, and you can hear the horns honking all day long. We just get used to it after a while. Most days are pretty quiet inside, though. We spend our time checking through paperwork or talking to people who walk in off the street. There is a small tea stall just a few doors down, so there is usually a smell of ginger tea drifting in. It is a plain, functional space where we get our work done without much fuss or bother. It is just how it is.
