Ayan Roy Chaudhary

My name is Ayan Roy Chaudhary and I live and work in Village-Harinarayanpur. It’s out in the Bagnan district of Howrah, West Bengal. Being in a village means things move a little slower here than in the city, which I actually prefer. My office is basically just a corner of my home near the post office in Mughkalyan. I don't have a big staff or anything like that. It's just me handling the daily tasks. I grew up around here, so I know almost everyone in the area. People stop by to talk about the weather or the crops before we even get to business. It’s a very human way of doing things. I don't use much fancy technology, just the basics to get the job done. Sometimes the electricity goes out during the monsoon season, so I have to wait it out with a lamp. That's just part of life in rural West Bengal. I started this because I wanted to stay in my hometown instead of moving to Kolkata for work. It’s a quiet existence, but I find it fulfilling to be my own boss. I don’t need to prove anything to anyone. I just provide my services to the local folks and keep everything running as best as I can from my small desk in Harinarayanpur. It is a simple life and I like that it stays that way for the most part.
