Sinclairs Bay View Hotels At Portblair

This is our administrative spot over in Howrah, specifically on Vidya Sagar Sarani in the Bally area. It’s quite a distance from the actual hotel in Port Blair, but this is where we handle the back-end things. The office overlooks the Jhilpar area. It’s a busy neighborhood with lots of people walking by. We have a few computers and a lot of logbooks. It’s a bit cramped inside, but we make it work. We spend our days coordinating between here and the islands. It can be a bit tricky with the communication sometimes, but we’ve been doing it for years. The rain in West Bengal can be heavy, so we’re always checking for leaks in the roof. We aren't some high-tech operation with fancy gadgets. We use regular pens and paper mostly. We are just a small team of workers who know the hotel business. People stop by sometimes to ask about bookings, and we do what we can to help. It’s a very local feel here. We know the tea stall owners and the postman by name. We don’t have a big corporate philosophy. We just want to make sure the guests at the hotel are taken care of, even if we are working from this small office in Howrah. It’s a lot of phone calls and checking lists, but it’s what keeps the whole thing running smoothly from afar.
