J.P. ENGINEERING WORKS

J.P. ENGINEERING WORKS is tucked away at 12 and 13, Shree Krishan Vakat Lane. If you walk down the lane, you can usually hear us before you see us because there is always some kind of machine running or someone hammering on a piece of metal. It is a narrow street, so getting larger deliveries in can be a bit of a headache, but we manage somehow. We have two units side by side, and they are usually covered in a thin layer of oil and metal shavings. That is just the nature of the work we do here. There isn't a lot of room for a front office or anything like that, so most of our business happens right there on the shop floor amidst the tools. Our staff has been together for years, and most of us live close by, so we just walk or cycle into work. We don't have fancy air conditioning, just some heavy-duty wall fans that move the air around when it gets too humid in the summer. It's a practical place, built for hard work rather than looking good. We keep the lathes and the drills in good shape because that’s what matters at the end of the day. You won't find any shiny showrooms here, just a lot of iron, steel, and people who know how to handle them. It’s a bit noisy and messy, but it is our workspace and we like it that way.
