Trushika Bio Farmers Producer Company Limited is run out of Jujhaila Chak village. We use Subhash’s place as our home base. It’s a small village where everyone is pretty much involved in agriculture. We called it a Bio company because we’re focusing on biological ways to improve our crops. We spend our evenings sitting around Subhash’s courtyard, talking about what worked and what didn't. It’s a very hands-on kind of business. We’re often out in the fields until the light is gone, checking the leaves or the soil. We don’t have a corporate office with air conditioning. Our office is the shade of a tree or a small brick room with a fan. We handle everything from getting the seeds to finding a way to get the produce to the market. It’s a lot of logistics for a small group, but we manage. Sometimes the paperwork for the company gets a bit confusing, but we help each other figure it out. We’re just regular people from Jujhaila Chak who wanted to do something together instead of struggling on our own. It’s about sharing the tools and the knowledge we have. The weather is our biggest boss, and we just try to work around whatever it throws at us each season. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from dawn till dusk every single day.
