We operate Maa Purnagiri Agro Farmer Producer Company Limited from Barauli Makdumnagarvaldiram. The office is at Anand Lal Gupta’s place, which is where we do all our planning and paperwork. It is a busy little spot, especially during the planting months. We get a lot of farmers stopping by to see what is happening with the group. Being out here in this part of the region, you have to be ready for anything. The weather usually dictates what our day looks like. Some days we are out checking the quality of the seeds, and other days we are just sitting inside trying to make sure the records are updated correctly. It is a straightforward operation. We don’t have a lot of staff, just a few of us who know the area and the people. Anand is often there to help out when things get complicated with the local authorities or when we need to organize a pickup. The roads around here can be tricky during the monsoon, but we are used to it by now. We started this producer company because it seemed like the right way to handle things for the community. It isn't about being big or famous; it is just about making sure the agro side of things runs as smoothly as possible for the families living around Barauli. We keep the lights on and the doors open for anyone who needs to come in and talk business.
