Our company is Alafiya Farmer Producer Company Limited, and you can find us at House Number 77, Ward Number 5 in Khor Basai. Ajmal Khan, son of Jan Mohammad, is the person who looks after the place. We are right in the middle of Mahwan, and it’s a typical farmer-run operation. We don’t have a lot of bells and whistles. The office is just a place to keep the records and meet when we need to discuss something important. Most of the time, we are out in the fields or at the market. We formed this group because it’s easier to buy seeds and tools when you do it together. It also helps when it’s time to sell the harvest. We try to keep things as straightforward as possible. There’s no corporate talk here, just plain English and local conversation. We talk about the soil, the water levels, and the cost of labor. It’s a struggle sometimes, especially when the weather isn’t on our side. But we’ve lived here all our lives, so we’re used to the ups and downs. We aren't making big promises to anyone. We just want to work our land and make sure we can keep going for the next season. It’s about being practical and helping each other out when one of us runs into trouble. That’s really all there is to it.
