Mung Dung Farmer Producer Company Limited is based in Amguri Town. We operate out of Ward No. 5 at Nogen Gogoi’s house. Amguri is a nice place, and being near the post office makes things easier for us. Even though we are in the town area, everything we do is about the farms outside of it. We are just a group of local folks who decided to organize ourselves a bit better. We don't have a corporate office with a view. Our view is usually just the street in Ward 5 or the back of a truck being loaded. Farming is hard work, and anyone who says otherwise hasn’t done it. We spend our time talking to other farmers and figuring out how to get our goods to the markets without losing too much money. It’s a lot of coordination and sometimes it’s pretty stressful. But we enjoy it because it’s our own thing. We aren't working for some big boss far away. We are working for ourselves and our neighbors. Nogen’s place is usually full of people coming and going, talking about weather patterns or the price of rice and tea. It’s not a polished operation, and we make mistakes sometimes, but we are learning as we go. That is just the way it is for us here in Amguri. We are just doing our part and keeping the tradition of farming alive.
