We are the team working over at the State Bank of India branch in the Dhuler area. You can find us at Anandi Apartment, specifically in Block 5, S/9. It is not one of those massive, shiny bank buildings you see in the middle of a big city. It is more of a local neighborhood spot here in Mapusa. We get a lot of the same faces coming in to see us every single week. To be honest, it feels more like a community hub than just a place where people handle their money. Sometimes the lines can get a bit long, especially on Monday mornings or at the start of the month. We try to move as fast as we can to help everyone out. The air conditioning works most of the time, which is a big relief when the Goa heat is at its worst. We have a relatively small staff here. Most of us have lived in this part of town for years. We know the regulars by their first names and they know us too. It is a bit cramped inside S/9 with all the furniture, but we make it work for us. Papers tend to pile up on the desks and it seems like someone is always looking for a spare pen that actually works. We don't have those fancy glass walls or high-tech gadgets. It is just a regular office where we do the banking work for the folks.
