Red Door Hostel is right at the Anjuna Junction in Goa. If you've ever been to this part of the world, you know it's a bit of a crossroads. The hostel itself is an old house we’ve adapted over time. It’s got a lot of character, which is a nice way of saying the floors are a bit uneven and the walls have seen a lot of history. We have bunk beds, a common area, and a lot of people coming and going at all hours. It's rarely quiet here. There is usually someone playing a guitar or just talking about where they’re heading next. We don't have many rules, just the basic stuff like being decent to each other and keeping the noise down after a certain hour. The staff is mostly just people who came to visit and decided to stay for a few months to help out. We spend a lot of time sweeping up sand and making sure the fridge is stocked with cold drinks. It’s not a five-star resort, and we don’t pretend it is. It’s a place to crash, meet some new people, and maybe share a meal. The junction outside can be a bit of a mess with traffic, but it makes it easy to find a bus or a rickshaw. We like the chaos of it. It’s just a simple, lived-in space for travelers who don't need much more than a bed and a bit of company. It gets humid, and sometimes the fans squeak, but that's just life at Anjuna.
