We’re based out of the Saumya Verekar Ghotgalkar House in Shukrawar Peth, over in Londa. It’s a small town in the Belgaum district of Karnataka. Most people just pass through Londa on the train, but we live and work here every day. Our office is basically a house that we’ve set up for our work. It’s got that old-fashioned feel with thick walls and high ceilings that keep things cool. Being in a place like Londa means things move a bit slower than in Bangalore or Belgaum city. We spend a lot of time on our computers, which can be a bit of a challenge when the power goes out during a rain storm. We keep a few backup batteries around just in case the lights flicker. The street outside is usually quiet, except for the occasional tractor or cows walking by on their way to the fields. We don’t have a big staff, just a handful of us who grew up around here or moved for the quiet life. We handle a lot of technical stuff, but we talk about it in plain English. There’s no need to sound fancy when you're working from a house in Shukrawar Peth. We eat our lunch together in the back room and talk about the local news or what’s happening in the village that week. It’s a simple life, but the work is interesting and it keeps us busy. We like being part of this community instead of a big city.
