We are a group of farmers from around Kasmakhurha here in Giridih. My name is one of the many people involved with Parashnath Farmers Producer Company Limited. If you are looking for us, we are mostly based out of Meghlal Mahto’s place at house number 01. It is a quiet spot but we keep busy with the fields and crops. Farming is what we know and what we have always done in this part of the country. A few of us got together to make this company so we could handle our work better. It’s not a big fancy office or anything like that. Just some local people trying to make things work together. We deal with the seeds and the harvest and everything that comes with life on the land. Sometimes the weather is good and sometimes it’s not, but that is how it goes. We just wanted a way to organize ourselves so we don't have to rely on too many outsiders. It’s mostly family and neighbors here in Giridih. We talk about the crops over tea and figure out what to plant next. Most of the time you can find someone working near the Mahto house. We don't have a big marketing team or anything. We just grow what we can and try to keep the business running for the local families. It's a simple life but it's our life and we're just trying to get by and grow some food for everyone.
