Bagodar Mahila Farmers Producer Company Limited

Our group is called Bagodar Mahila Farmers Producer Company. We’re based in Manjhladih, right on the G T Road in Bagodar. We use Pratima Rana’s place as our main office, and she works with Jivadhan Rana to keep things going. We are all women from the local area who spend our lives working in the fields. It’s tough work, especially during the harvest when there’s so much to do and not enough hours in the day. We formed this company because we wanted the women farmers here to have a voice. Usually, the men handle the selling, but we thought we could do it ourselves. We don't have a big corporate office or a lot of money. Our office is just a room in a house where we keep our papers and meet to talk. Being near the G T Road is handy because it makes it a bit easier to get our produce moved to the markets. We don't have any marketing slogans or big promises. We just want to grow good crops and get a price that’s fair for the labor we put in. It helps us feel a bit more secure having this company behind us. We talk about everything from the price of seeds to how to fix a broken pump. It's a very community-focused group. We’ve lived in Bagodar all our lives, and this is just our way of looking out for each other and our families. We keep it simple and honest.
