Shri Vethathiri Vidhyalaya Matriculation Higher Secondary School

The sun comes up over Saminathanpuram and things start moving at the school here in Modakurichi. We've been in this part of Erode for a while now. The building is usually full of noise by eight in the morning with kids arriving from all the nearby spots. It’s a bit of a rush getting everyone into their seats, but that’s just how it goes every day. You can hear the teachers talking through the open windows while the fans hum in the background. We have the primary kids on one side and the older ones doing their higher secondary work on the other. It gets pretty loud during the lunch break when everyone heads out to the grounds, then it settles down again for the afternoon lessons. Sometimes the dust from the road blows in, but nobody really minds much. We spend a lot of time just keeping things organized and making sure the registers are filled out. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint soon, but the classrooms are sturdy and the desks do the job. After the final bell rings, the buses line up and the place gets quiet until the next morning. It’s a lot of work running a school in a place like this, but we’re used to the routine. Most of us live nearby, so we see the parents at the market too. Just a regular school day in our little corner of the world.
