Bharathi Vidhyalaya Matric Higher Secondary School. We are located at No 44 A, Karattoor, in the south part of Gobichettipalayam. People around here just call it Gobi. It is a nice town with a lot of green around it. The school has been part of this neighborhood for a while now. We handle students from the primary levels all the way up to the 12th standard. The higher secondary years are always the busiest because there is so much pressure on the older kids. You can see them huddled together in the corridors discussing their science or math problems. The building has several floors and the stairs are always busy with students moving between periods. We have a good-sized ground where the kids play football or cricket when the bells ring for the physical education classes. The staff room is usually piled high with papers that need grading. It is a lot of work keeping up with the matriculation syllabus, but the teachers here are used to the rhythm of it. In the mornings, the gate is crowded with cycles and scooters. We try to keep things organized, though it gets a bit chaotic when it rains. The classrooms have big windows to let in the breeze from the Karattoor hills nearby. It is just a local school doing the daily work of teaching the neighborhood children year after year.
