Govt Secondary School

This is the government secondary school located in Emmampoondi. We are situated in the Nambiyur Taluk area of Erode. It is a very rural setting, so things are usually pretty quiet around this part of the country. The school building has been standing here for a very long time. It is a sturdy enough structure but you can definitely tell it is old when you look at the walls and the roof. We have a large open area all around the school building which is very good for the students to use. They have plenty of space to move around and talk during their lunch breaks. We teach the secondary grade levels here. The students mostly come from the local village or the many surrounding farms in the district. Some of these kids have to walk quite a long distance just to get here every morning. We do not have much in the way of fancy or expensive equipment in the classrooms. It is just the absolute basics like wooden benches, old boards, and textbooks. The teachers are very dedicated to their daily work. We spend our days following the standard government curriculum that is set for us. There is always a lot of paperwork and registers to deal with every week. The classrooms can get a bit hot in the afternoons but we are all quite used to it by now. We do not have any promotional materials or glossy advertisements. Everyone in the village already knows who we are.
