Ekm Abdul Gani Matharasa Islamia High School has its home at No 26 on Cauvery Road in Erode. We have been part of the Erode community for quite some time now. Being on Cauvery Road means we are close to the river area, though you can't always see it from the school. The building is an older one, with thick walls and high ceilings that help keep things a bit cooler during the hot Erode summers. As a high school, we see a lot of students coming through our doors every morning. They are mostly from the local families around here. We have a routine that hasn't changed much over the years. The teachers come in, the bell rings, and we get to work on the subjects for the day. It’s a lot of chalk and talk, which is how we’ve always done it. We have a small area where the students can spend their breaks, but mostly they are in their classrooms. Managing a school with this kind of history means there is always something that needs fixing, whether it’s a desk or a window. We don't go in for anything flashy. We just focus on the textbooks and the lessons. The staff is dedicated to the students, and we all know each other well. It’s a tight-knit place where everyone is just trying to do their part for the next generation.
