Government High School Nallur

Government High School Nallur sits right on the Sakthi to Covai Main Road in Erode. Because we are on such a main road, there is always the sound of buses and trucks rushing past our front gate. It is a government-run place, so we follow all the standard rules and use the books provided by the state. The building is quite old and has that solid feel to it, with high ceilings and thick walls that keep it a bit cooler. We have a big playground where the students play football or cricket when they aren't in class. Since it is a high school, the students are older and there is a lot of focus on getting them ready for their final exams. The teachers here have a lot of students to look after, so it stays pretty busy from morning until late afternoon. We don't have any fancy decorations or expensive equipment, just the basics like desks, chairs, and plenty of chalk for the boards. Many of the kids come from the surrounding villages near Nallur, often taking the local buses that stop right outside. It is a place where hard work is expected because most of these families are farmers or laborers. We just provide the space and the time for them to study. It’s a regular government school doing what it has done for many years in this part of Erode. People here appreciate having a school that is so accessible.
