Amma Matriculation School

Amma Matriculation School is at No 12/3 Maraimalai Adigal Street. It’s a plain place, mostly brick and some old paint that’s starting to chip near the windows. Pulimpatti is a quiet spot in Erode, so we don’t get much noise except when the school bus pulls in. The classrooms have big fans that rattle quite a bit, but they keep the air moving during the hot afternoons. Most of us who work here live just a short walk away. We see the parents at the local market or the tea shop on the corner. It’s a very normal routine every day. We ring the bell at eight and the kids start pouring in through the gate. There is a lot of chalk dust on everything, and the wooden desks are marked up with years of student doodles. We don't have a huge playground, just a small open area where the kids play during their break. Sometimes the roof leaks a tiny bit when the monsoon is heavy, so we have to move the benches around. It’s not a fancy setup, but it’s where we spend our days. We have a small office with a few steel cupboards and stacks of old registers. People around here just know us as the local school on Maraimalai Adigal Street. It’s just a practical building where people come to do their work and the kids come to study.
