Nandhi Matriculation Higher Secondary School

If you find yourself on Vaickal Road in Erode, you will see our building at number 22. This is Nandhi Matriculation Higher Secondary School. We are tucked into Thirunagar Colony, which is a fairly busy part of town. Our gate is usually open early in the morning because the staff likes to get things ready before the students arrive. We have been here in 638003 for quite some years now. The school has grown a bit over time, adding more rooms as we needed them for the higher secondary classes. It’s not always quiet; with so many kids in one place, there is always some noise from the playground or the canteen. We focus on the basics here. The students spend their hours sitting at wooden desks, writing in their journals and listening to the teachers. We use the Tamil Nadu matriculation system, so there are always exams to prepare for and notebooks to grade. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to open all the windows to let the breeze in from the colony. It’s a regular school life, nothing too flashy or modern. Parents come by to talk about their kids' progress, and we sit in the small office to go over the marks together. We just try to provide a steady place for these children to grow up and learn their subjects properly. It is a long day for everyone, but we keep the routine going every single week.
