Our place is located at X/601 B in Malikampeedika, which is part of Alangad in Aluva. The name My Home Foods India Pvt Ltd sounds a bit official, but we’re really just a local operation. We make things that remind people of home cooking. The kitchen is always going, and there’s usually a pot of something simmering. We have a few ladies from the village who come in to help with the prep work. It’s a lot of chopping and stirring all day long. We don’t use those big machines for everything because we think it tastes better when it’s done by hand. The building is tucked away a bit, so you have to look for the sign. We started in a much smaller room and eventually moved here when we needed more space for the stoves. Sometimes we run out of ingredients and have to wait for the local market to open. It’s not a perfect system, but it works for us. We don't spend money on commercials or big ads. Most people find us through word of mouth. We just want to make food that people actually want to eat at their dinner table. It’s a lot of long hours, but seeing the empty containers at the end of the day makes it worth it. We just keep doing what we know how to do best, one meal at a time.
