International Book Center

Daryaganj is always full of books, and International Book Center is tucked right into Murari Lal Street. Our address is House No-4378/4/B, just off Ansari Road. It’s a narrow street, so it can be a bit of a squeeze when delivery vans are trying to pass through. Inside, we have stacks of books everywhere you look. It's mostly quiet work here, sorting through orders and keeping track of what’s in stock. We have been here long enough that the dust on the higher shelves feels like part of the furniture. My uncle started this place, and now a few of us keep it going. We don’t have a fancy showroom or anything like that. It’s more of a warehouse feel where we handle a lot of distribution. The floor is concrete and the lights flicker a bit if the weather is bad. We spend a lot of time on the phone or checking lists. If you come by Ansari Road, you have to look closely for the turn into Murari Lal Street. It is easy to miss if you are in a hurry. We mostly deal with other shops and libraries, so there is always a lot of packing tape and cardboard boxes lying around. It gets really hot in the summer, so we keep a couple of old fans running all day. It is just a regular day-to-day operation in the heart of the city's book district. We handle everything ourselves and just keep the books moving.
