You can find us on Prahlad Street, which is just off Ansari Road. We’ve been in this shop, 4831/24, for quite a long time now. Darya Ganj is a busy place for books, and we’re right in the middle of it. Our space is crowded with shelves and piles of manuscripts waiting to be looked at. It’s not the quietest office, but it works for us. We spend most of our time talking to authors or checking on the latest print runs. Sometimes the rain leaks a little near the back door, but we put a bucket there and keep going. We aren't trying to be the biggest name out there, just a place that gets books made. The street outside is always full of people moving boxes. It’s a tight squeeze in the shop when a new shipment arrives. We usually have tea around four and talk about what needs to be done tomorrow. It’s a simple operation, really. No big corporate meetings here, just us sitting around desks covered in paper. We know the neighbors and the tea stall guy knows our order. It’s a bit messy, and the filing system is mostly in our heads, but the books get out to the shops eventually. Anyway, it’s just the way things have always been done in this part of town and we don't see that changing anytime soon.
