Nabha Palace Mussoorie (A Claridges Resort)

Nabha Palace sits on Barlowgunj Road, a bit away from the main noise of Mussoorie. It’s an old building with a lot of history tied to it. We aren't like those new hotels that all look the same. Our floors creak a bit and the gardens have been growing for a long time. It takes a lot of work to keep an old place like this running properly. We spend our days making sure the rooms are ready and the grounds are looked after. Living and working up here at the airfield area means dealing with the mountain weather, which can be unpredictable. One minute it’s sunny and the next the clouds are coming right into the hallways. We have guests who come back every year because they like the quiet. It’s not a place for people who want loud music and crowds. It’s more for sitting on the porch and looking at the trees. We’ve got a small team here and we mostly just try to be helpful without being in the way. The road up from the main town can be a bit of a climb, but the view makes it worth it. We don't have a lot of fancy technology everywhere. We prefer the old-fashioned way of doing things. It feels more natural for a building with this much age on it. It’s a peaceful spot to spend time.
