Ista Hotel (Bangalore)

It’s a bit of a funny situation because even though our name says Ista Hotel Bangalore, this office is actually located up in Dehradun, Uttaranchal. We are right in the 248001 zip code area. The weather here is much different than down south, especially when the winter hits and you can see the mist on the hills. We handle things for the hotel from this side, mostly dealing with the admin work and phone calls that don't need us to be physically in Bangalore. My desk is near a window where I can see the local traffic passing by. It’s a lot quieter than the big city life. We have a small team here, just a few of us sharing the space and making sure the records are kept straight. Sometimes the power goes out when there’s a storm in the mountains, so we keep some candles and torches handy. We don't have any fancy decorations in the office, just the basics like a printer that jams occasionally and some old chairs. It’s a simple setup but it works for us. We spend our time checking through guest details and making sure the bookings are all accounted for. It’s a steady pace of work and we like being in this part of the country while still being part of the hotel group. It’s not fancy, but it is home for us.
