The Laxman Jhula Bridge is right nearby, so we get a lot of people passing through. Hotel Kunwar Residency isn’t one of those massive luxury resorts you see in the brochures. It’s more of a place where you can just put your bags down and rest. The walk to the bridge is short, which is why most folks pick us. We spend a lot of time cleaning rooms and checking in travelers who are usually pretty tired from their journeys. The stairs can be a bit steep, and the paint in the hallway might need a touch-up here and there, but the beds are decent. Sometimes you can hear the river if the night is quiet enough. We don't have a huge staff. It’s mostly just a few of us making sure there's hot water and that the linens are fresh. People ask us for directions all day long. We tell them where the best local food is or how to avoid the crowds at the bridge. It’s a busy spot, especially during the peak season when the streets are packed with tourists and motorbikes. We just try to keep things moving. It gets hectic, but that’s just how it is living and working so close to a landmark. It’s not a perfect setup, but it’s our job and we do it every day without much fuss. We just want guests to have a quiet night before they head out again for their next adventure in the mountains.
