Hotel Padmini Nivas

Our place, Hotel Padmini Nivas, is tucked away near the Library end of The Mall. It’s a bit of a different pace compared to the noisier parts of the street. We have a lot of old trees around, and keeping the leaves swept up is a full-time job for the guys outside. The building has been here for a long time, and you can feel that history when you walk through the hallways. We don't have many fancy gadgets or high-tech systems. We still use physical keys and write a lot of things down in ledgers. It feels more natural that way. The gardens need a lot of water in the summer, and we spend our mornings making sure everything stays green. Sometimes monkeys come by and cause a bit of trouble with the roof tiles, but that’s just part of living up here. We get a lot of families who have been coming to stay with us for generations. It’s nice to see the kids grow up and bring their own children back. We aren't trying to be the most modern hotel in the world. We just want it to be a place where you can actually sit and read a book without too much noise. The kitchen prepares simple meals, nothing too complicated, just stuff that tastes like home. It’s a quiet life for the most part, and we like it that way. We just keep the rooms tidy and wait for the next guest to arrive at our door.
