Hotel Shiva Continental

Up here on The Mall in Kulri, things stay pretty busy because of all the tourists walking by. We are right in the thick of it. The air is thinner up here, and sometimes our staff gets a bit winded carrying luggage up to the higher floors. The building has that old hill station feel to it, with wooden accents that we try to polish every few months. It gets quite cold in the winter, so we spend a lot of time making sure the heaters are working properly. The 248179 area code covers a lot of ground, but being right on the Mall means we hear the chatter of the crowds until late at night. Sometimes the monkeys get onto the balconies and we have to shoo them away so they don't take anything. It’s just a part of living in the hills. The carpets have faded a bit where the sun hits them through the windows, but they are still clean. We have a small dining area where the food is basic but filling. Most people stay with us because they want to be close to the shops and the viewpoint. It isn’t a fancy resort, just a solid building with rooms that have been here through many seasons. We keep the doors locked late at night for safety, but someone is always around if you knock loud enough. We just do the work.
