CHANDEL HOTELS AND HOSPITALITY PRIVATELIMITED is run from Laxmanpur in Vikasnagar. We are at Hardayal S Chandel’s place. Vikasnagar is a bit of a distance from the main Dehradun city, which actually makes it a bit more relaxed. We have been here for a bit, working on building up our hospitality services. It’s a family-run kind of thing, really. We don’t have fancy uniforms or a big PR team writing our stuff. We just know how to treat people who come through our doors. The building is part of the local neighborhood, so you see neighbors walking by and kids playing outside. We handle the daily chores ourselves—checking people in, making sure the rooms are ready, and talking to the local suppliers for milk and vegetables. It gets busy during the wedding season because people need places for their relatives to stay. We also get travelers who are heading up towards the Yamunotri side or just exploring the foothills. The work is steady and it keeps us on our toes. We don’t make big promises we can’t keep. We just offer a decent place to sleep and a friendly face when you arrive. Laxmanpur is a good community, and we are glad to be part of it. Most of our guests find us through word of mouth, which is fine by us. Sometimes we sit out front in the evenings when the work is done.
