Sangai Restaurant

Working at Uttarayan City Centre in Siliguri keeps us pretty busy. Sangai Restaurant is up on the 1st floor, and we’re right by the S5 family store. Matigara is an area that has changed a lot lately with all the new buildings and shops popping up. We get a mix of people coming in—shoppers who are tired from walking around and families out for a meal. The restaurant has a view of the Old Matigara Road, and we spend a lot of time watching the rain come down during the monsoon season. We don't have a fancy menu with things you can't pronounce; we just make what we know how to make in our kitchen. The staff has been with us for a bit, so we have a good routine going. We start the day by checking the stock and cleaning the glass windows so people can see inside. Sometimes the mall gets a bit quiet during the weekdays, but it picks up once the sun goes down. We aren't trying to be the most famous place in town, just a reliable spot where you can sit down for a bit and eat. The floor gets a bit slippery when it’s wet outside, so we’re always mopping near the entrance. It’s a simple life, and we are just happy to have a steady flow of people coming through the door at C0101.
