Bhudi Bhoj

We are located on Raja Ram Mohan Roy Road in the Hakimpara area of Siliguri. Our shop is right opposite the Bidhan Road auto stand, so there is always a lot of shouting and the sound of diesel engines outside our door. It is a very busy part of town, and we get a lot of commuters who are just jumping off an auto and looking for something to eat before they head to their next stop. The restaurant itself is quite small and the layout is a bit narrow inside. We have been serving Bengali meals here for quite some time now. Most of our customers come for the lunch thalis because they are quick and filling for a working person. We don't use any fancy tablecloths or expensive cutlery. Everything is very basic and practical for a working-class neighborhood like this one. The kitchen stays quite warm because of all the cooking, and you can smell the spices from out on the street. Sometimes it gets a bit cramped during the peak hours, and you might even have to share a table with a stranger, but that is common in Siliguri. We just focus on getting the food out to the tables as fast as the cooks can manage to plate it. It isn't a place for a long, quiet dinner, but it works well for anyone who needs a real meal in the middle of a busy day in Hakimpara.
