Cedar Inn

Cedar Inn sits on Jalapahar Road up here in Darjeeling. The air is usually cool and we get a lot of mist coming up the hillside. We have been here for a long time, watching the seasons change. It is a simple building made of stone and wood. We have rooms for people who want to stay over and see the view. We spend a lot of time keeping the wood fires going when it gets cold. There is no big corporate office behind us, just a few of us who live and work on the property. We do the cooking and the cleaning ourselves. It is a quiet life on this road. People find us because they want to be away from the main market noise. We do not have fancy TVs in every corner or anything like that. It is more about having a roof over your head and a warm place to sit. Sometimes the road up here is a bit steep, but cars can make it. We have a small garden area that we try to keep neat, though the mountain rain makes everything grow very fast. We are just a local inn. We do not try to be anything else. Most of our guests are hikers or families taking a break. It is a plain and honest place to spend a night. We hope you can find us easily enough once you get onto Jalapahar Road. It is just a bit past the main turn.
