Mahabir Thali House

You can find Mahabir Thali House inside the Mahabir Guest House building. We are on K C Dey Road, which is just off Sevoke Road near the main Sevoke More in Siliguri. It is a busy part of town and there is always something going on outside. We mostly focus on serving thalis. We think it is better to do one thing okay than to try and do a hundred things. A thali is simple and fills you up without any fuss. The guest house is right here, so we get a lot of people staying there who come down to eat. But we also have locals who stop in. The kitchen is not very big, so it gets pretty crowded when we are busy. My brothers and I run the show ourselves. We do the cooking and the serving and the cleaning. It is a lot of work and we are usually pretty tired by the end of the day. We are not trying to be a fancy restaurant with decorations and soft music. It is just a plain room with sturdy tables. The building has been here for a long time and it shows its age, but it is home to us. We do not do any marketing. People know where we are. We have regulars who have been coming here for years. They know what they like and we make sure they get it. It is just a basic, honest place to get some food and then get on with your day.
