Nakkati Farmers Producer Company Limited is based out here in Pushna Danga. We use Hasan Ali’s place as our main point of contact. If you are looking for us, you head towards Miyadayaler Chhara. It’s a local operation, mostly just neighbors and families from the area working together. We didn't want anything too complicated when we started. The idea was just to get our farming work organized so we could do better as a group. It gets quite hot out here, and the days are long, but that’s just how it is when you’re working with the land. We handle things as they come. If a machine breaks, we fix it. If the crop is good, we’re happy. We aren't some big city firm with a shiny building. Most of our meetings happen sitting outside or in a small room at the back of the house. We deal with whatever the season gives us. Being in a place like this means you know everyone by name. We see the same faces every morning and talk about the same problems like the cost of seeds or the lack of rain. It is a very hands-on kind of business. There is no middleman telling us what to do. We just look at our fields in Pushna Danga and try to make the most of what we have got. It’s hard work, but it keeps us busy and we like it that way.
